Socktopus

Socktopus!! What an awesome name for a sock animal! Sock puppets are fun to make and you can be super creative with them but learning to make different animals is even better. I found the socktopus while thinking of activities to do with the homeless children at my mom’s church. This was a HUGE hit! Even the moms wanted to make one. They’re very easy to do and just the cutest things ever.

I was so excited that I took the picture right where I was!

Kids can drag these little guys around everywhere and even sleep with them they're so soft. Also, if they get ruined it is no big deal because they're just socks!

Flower Loop Hair Bow

This hair bow was a bit intimating at first glance! I thought it was adorable but looked so complicated. After looking through the instructions I realized how easy it is. Once you figure out the first layer of the bow it’s a piece of cake from there.

These are my first attempt!

My Flower Loop Hair Bows are only three layers because of the size of my ribbon. I didn’t want them to be to tall. This bow is really neat especially with bright colors. The brighter the colors the better, I think! I love my second attempt at these bows even more.

Alix's Bow Hanger

Alix's bow hanger has so far been my favorite project of all! Alix is my cousin whom I am very close with. I made this for her as a special gift for her eighth birthday. I started this project with a plain wooden heart, a box of paints, a bag of buttons, and ribbons. I absolutely loved making this for her! It took quite a while to hand paint her name on it and place the buttons on just right. After that I decided I wanted to hand make even the hair bows so I learned how to make simple bows for her that she can put in her hair.

After finishing this project I really got into fun, girly crafts, especially fancier hair bows! With a big family and lots of kids running around there's always time for crafts!!
